Jason,

Thanks for your comment! I have heard about EFT -- seems like an interesting realm for investigation. In general, I've had pretty good success with my Qigong and spiritual practices, but it might be worth it to explore another vista.

I'm glad you've gotten some value about of the podcasts!

Hey Eric,

I'm glad you keep coming back to this struggle with confidence in clinic. I know from my experiences in massage school that the presence, centeredness and confidence I feel practicing on my fellow classmates can rapidly evaporate when talking to a "real" client. It's as if I'm about to go on stage and I am sure I haven't rehearsed my lines nearly enough. Even as I finish up my LMT training, I still struggle with this.

Something that I've found helpful is Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) which is a real simple method of locking onto an emotional disturbance and neutralizing or at least diminishing its "charge" by tapping certain acupressure points. It works even better when combined with affirmations.

Your podcasts on self-cultivation and visualization also speak to this topic. It just reminds me that almost every student has to go through this on their way to becoming a good practitioner, and that there are so many ways we can meet this challenge.

Whoah! I didn't know you were a Thievery Corp fan! I love those guys. If you don't already know, there's an amazing internet radio station out of Frisco by the name of Somafm (http://somafm.com)They have a whole bunch of different streams going (for Iphone too!) and think you'll find Groove Salad very much to your liking.

Nice sounding mic btw. You should show us what it is. I think I'm going to go write an article on this very same memorization subject myself.
