So, the Deepest Health : Exploring Classical Chinese Medicine blog renaissance is well underway. I’ve got a full day ahead of me, so I’ll keep this post brief and to the point. If you crave more juicy content, just check out this week of posts! I thought I would highlight the most important and visible changes to the blog, and encourage you to look through the various pages if you haven’t done so recently.
- I changed the blog theme to the infinitely customizable, beautifully designed Thesis Theme. If you’re looking for a blog theme – I can recommend this one most heartily. It costs money, so may not be right if you’re just dabbling in blogging – but it balances a robust feature set and ample room (and instruction) for customization with ease of use. This makes it great for all levels of blog and computing knowledge. It’s frequently updated, has a great support forum and has generally been one of the greatest purchases of my blogging career. Seriously. I will be continuing to tinker with the theme over the coming months, including changing the background, monkeying with fonts and colors, and so on. If you’re interested in checking Thesis out or purchasing it, and want to allow me to get a little kickback, please check it out or buy it by using my affiliate link. Otherwise, you can go directly to the DIY themes site, bypassing my affiliate link.
- Updated the Articles page. This is an ongoing project. I’ve divided the page into categories, and I’m now looking back through a couple of years of content to determine what posts I want to highlight. If your favorite post isn’t up there, or you want to make sure I put a particular article or series on the page, let me know in comments or by email.
- Speaking of contacting me, I updated the About Eric Grey page. I’ve included information about my new clinic, a snazzy new contact form, and other improvements.
- I’ve also updated Amanda Barp’s page on the site to reflect her current education and clinical focus, as well as adding information about our Watershed clinic.
- I’ve implemented a new posting structure. I think it will more or less stay the way it is for a while, though I will probably omit the Sunday post more often than not. Someone pointed out to me that I might want to take a day off. We’ll see how it goes.
- I’ve added a comment feed to the sidebar – scroll down a bit to see it. This highlights all the latest comments and will, hopefully, increase interaction on the site. I hope to do some cool things with readers in the future – so keep your comments coming!
That’s the majority of what is up and visible at this point. Every week, things will be changing until everything is how I like it. What’s funny is that in the next 12-18 months, I’m likely to completely redesign the site, using the fine services of my friend Angus Maguire over at Outside the Lines. I’m really looking forward to that, but will have to be satisfied with what I can do on my own for now.
Thanks everyone,
Eric
